Satisfied EGG TART Craving!

February 24, 2013

So, to satisfy my craving for egg tart, I decided to make it myself instead of searching for which bakery shop that sell this thingy. I searched the recipe online and found a video of making the egg tart from Youtube. I did actually modified the recipe from the video. And yeah, i actually made it and out of my expectation it was so delicious. It is actually quite easy to make it with only simple ingredients.

12 Egg tarts ==>

Ingredients for pastry:

1. Plain flour (200g or 1+1/3 cup)
2. Butter (1 stick or 8Tbs) - you might want to soften the butter a lil bit earlier before making.
3. Icing Sugar (1/2cup)
4. One Egg

Ingredients for tart:

1. Sugar (1/3 cup)
2. Water (150ml or 1/2 cup)
3. 2 Eggs
4. Evaporated milk (40ml or 2Tbs)

Steps:
1. Mix all the ingredients for pastry in a mixing bowl.
2. Knead the mixture like kneading bread, until all the ingredients are equally mixed.

3. Put the dough in the fridge for about 20 minutes to rise.
4. While waiting for the 20 minutes, you might want to pre-heat you oven with 350F first.
5. Heat the sugar and water until boiled. (You don't need to stir the sugar, just let it boil)

6. After the water is boiled, put it aside to cool down.
7. Now, take out the dough and separate the dough into 12 equal portion. (Sorry, forget to take foto here =( )
8. With a little flour top on the dough, press each of the portion into the foiled-cup or cupcake pan.

* you don't want the bottom of the pastry to be too thin. So, press evenly with your two thumb fingers until the top of the cup.
9. Pour the evaporated milk into the cooled down sugar water and add in the 2 eggs.
10. Beat the mixture and strain the mixture with a filter.
11. Pour the mixture on top of the dough with each 80% full.

12. Put them into the oven and bake for 20 minutes with the temperature of 375F.
13. Use a toothpick to poke in the middle of the tart, if it stands upright then it means they are ready, if not try to bake a few minutes more.
14. And you're done!!!
Tadaaa....

Happy Baking ^^V
